ANMV is involved in a Joint Visit Programme to strengthen European harmonisation of good veterinary clinical practice (VICH GL9)
As part of the review of these good veterinary clinical practices, a European working group has been set up to promote the exchange of experience and the harmonisation of inspection procedures. A subgroup of three inspectors, including an ANMV inspector, was specifically set up to lead this initiative. Their mission: develop common training materials and strengthen the convergence of practices at European level.
From 12 to 16 February 2026, France hosted two European inspectors – one Belgian and the other Spanish – for active observation during an inspection of a French clinical trial sponsor. This collaboration is part of a logic of sharing and reciprocity: the French inspector will travel by the end of the year to Belgium to participate in an inspection of clinical trial investigators and then to Spain to evaluate a CRO (Contract Research Organization) specialised in setting up and monitoring trials.
This programme illustrates the importance of European and international cooperation to ensure high and uniform standards of good veterinary clinical practice. Through initiatives like this, our agency actively contributes to the continuous improvement of inspection processes and the training of teams, while strengthening our European network.
