For the 2013 Paris International Agricultural Show, 8- to 12-year-olds will discover or rediscover the keys to healthy eating. With a cheerful family kitchen as a backdrop, you will learn or get a refresher course on how to prepare a well-balanced meal, to store foods correctly in the fridge, how to identify food groups that should be eaten without delay, etc.
Which provides the most vitamin C, an orange or a bell pepper? What's the best way to organise food in your refrigerator? Should any special precautions be taken when eating raw fish? What is the "use-by date" for? And also: How much feed (hay, grass, etc.) does a cow eat each day? Can veterinarians fall ill caring for animals? Should farmers use protection when applying antiparasitic treatments on their animals? Does global warming have an impact on farms?
For this year's edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show, ANSES invites you to take a life-size quiz to help both young and old learn about nutrition and food safety. So that everybody can "to it right" while having fun! An imaginative set design resembling a cheerful family kitchen will be the backdrop for ANSES to emphasise the importance of a balanced diet and food hygiene in the home while explaining its food safety missions in a fun and informative way.
So come test your knowledge of ANSES's areas of expertise as well as the quality and contents of what you put in your plate in our fun and playful kitchen.
Those who are really in the know will also find most of our publications on the stand, and scientists from the Agency will be on hand every day to answer all your questions.
