2011 was the first full year of activity for ANSES, and it abounded with topical corporate and scientific events.
Publication of the Agency's report on the health effects of bisphenol A, integration of the Plant Health Laboratory on 01 January 2011, the mobilisation demonstrated by ANSES and its laboratories during the food poisoning epidemic caused by sprouts contaminated with a new strain of E. coli bacteria, the Agency's responses to the emergent "Schmallenberg" virus, and the major projects launched on the agricultural workers' health issue, were all important milestones throughout the year.
These few examples,as well as all the others that are presented in ANSES's 2011 Activity Report, are an illustration of the wide scope of the Agency's activities and give meaning to the integrated approach to health and safety to which ANSES is committed.
