ANSES invites you to discover this year's new stand at the 2012 edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show, and its theme: "From the fridge to the oven: do it right!"
The stand will be set up to resemble a cheerful family kitchen, and in a fun and informative way will emphasise the importance of a balanced diet and food hygiene in the home. The stand will be accessible to all, offering a fun way for 8- to 12-year-olds and their families to discover or rediscover the keys to healthy eating.
What is the "use-by date" for? Should any special precautions be taken when eating raw fish? What's the best way to organise food in your refrigerator? Which provides the most vitamin C, an orange or a bell pepper? An imaginative set design will be the backdrop for a life-size quiz to help both young and old learn about nutrition and food safety rules. So that everyone can "do it right" while having fun!
Scientists from the Agency will be on hand to answer questions, as well as to present our various fields of activity and the many facets of scientific assessment.
In addition, ANSES, in partnership with INRA, will organise a conference on one of the leading topics in our work programme: Antimicrobial resistance in the animal health field. At 1:30 pm on 29 February 2012, ANSES's Director General, Marc Mortureux, will open the conference on the INRA stand with a presentation on the uses and consumption of antibiotics in livestock farming and related public health issues.
The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) was created in July 2010. Its principal mission is to contribute through risk assessment to the protection of human health in the fields of the environment, the workplace and food, while also contributing to animal health and well-being, and to plant protection.
ANSES's wide scope of expertise enables it to comprehend all the risks that humans are exposed to both deliberately and unintentionally at all ages and periods of life, in the workplace, at home and during leisure activities.
