Annual meeting of the Epidemiological surveillance platform for animal health, Maisons-Alfort
Founded in 2011, the National epidemiological surveillance platform for animal health is a tool used by all those involved in animal disease surveillance in France. Its primary objective is to facilitate the coordination, day-to-day operations and monitoring of surveillance policies. Seven prioritary themes were established for 2012: bovine tuberculosis, ruminant abortion, swine influenza virus, avian influenzas, bee diseases, bluetongue, and mollusc mortality. To successfully achieve its goals, the platform receives support from over 80 identified surveillance systems. This meeting aims to provide a status report on the platform's operations, to evaluate its results and to plan for its future development.
