The network of partners : The "R31"
In order to fulfil its missions, ANSES has set up and coordinates a network of scientific organisations, which work in the agency's field of expertise (Article R1313-1 of the French Public Health Code).
The network is made up of thirty partners and was officially launched in October 2010. A charter sets out the network's operating framework. In particular, it states that the network's objective is to strengthen cooperation with a view to:
- assessing health risks in the fields of food, the environment, work, animal health and plant health.
- conducting monitoring, then alerting the government authorities in the event of public health risks;
- improving knowledge about health risks, within ANSES’s scope of expertise;
Workshops are organised within the network on subjects for which a high added value return is expected. In 2012, four workshops were organised within the network: prospective intelligence (in partnership with the InVS), antimicrobial resistance, health and nanomaterials, health hazards and the water cycle (in partnership with ONEMA).
The coordination of the network also involves participating in various actions: Management of Objective 1 of the French Occupational Health Plan (PST): "To pursue the structuring and development of research and expertise in occupational health", by mobilising the network's scientists, particularly concerning scientific expertise (contributing to the scientific monitoring bulletin, evaluating projects), dealing with formal requests, examining current regulated product dossiers.
