Regulated Products Assessment Department
The Regulated Products Assessment Department, under the coordination of the Managing Director General for the Regulated Products Division, is responsible for the activities relating to assessment of risks to humans, animals or the environment, and of benefits in the area of plant protection active substances and products, non-indigenous macro-organisms considered beneficial to plants and introduced into the environment, biocidal active substances and products, fertilisers, growing media, and similar products.
It calls on the expert committees and other expert groups established within the Agency, as well as the scientific expertise of its own staff, working in liaison with the Agency's other departments.
It is responsible for examining marketing authorisation application dossiers in the area of plant protection products, fertilisers, growing media, biocides, and similar products, as well as applications concerning non-indigenous macro-organisms considered beneficial to plants and introduced into the environment, and all associated applications, in the framework of the regulations in force.
It compiles dossiers in support of the competent French authorities in the framework of the CLP Regulation, with regard to active substances.
It contributes to the Agency's activities in the field of the REACh Regulation.
In its areas of expertise, it formulates recommendations or proposals for the competent authorities, and ensures scientific coordination of the expert committees mentioned in Article L. 1313-6 of the Public Health Code and other expert groups established within the Agency.
