Surveillance activities of the Nancy Laboratory for Hydrology

National campaigns on the prevalence of emerging parameters in drinking water, recreational water and bottled water.

The Nancy Laboratory for Hydrology periodically organises national campaigns to measure non-regulated emerging pollutants, in order to collect exposure data necessary for health risk assessment purposes.

The most recent campaign carried out in 2015 and 2016 focused on the prevalence of 10 phthalates, nine haloacetic acids, chlorates and the bacterium Rouxiella chamberiensis in drinking water in all metropolitan and overseas French départements.

In 2020, a new national campaign was launched that dealt with emerging pollutants in drinking water. It involved around 800 samples and 208 substances, including pesticide metabolites, explosives residues and 1,4-dioxane in all French départements including overseas départements.
