Public : oui
Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, Grand Amphithéâtre
Dim One Health, in conjunction with the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (MNHN), is organising a symposium on the “One Health” concept as seen through the human and social sciences. This symposium will be an opportunity to bring up questions regarding the creation of the “One Health” notion, as well as the possibilities and injunctions that it implies. The discussion will cover four cross-cutting topics: “one health”? - Epistemology of a notion; controversies in public health; circulation of crises, pathogens and medicinal products. The workshop will end with a Round Table. DIM One Health is a scientific project funded by the Ile-de-France region whose goal is to build a solid “One Health” infectious disease network, unique in France. The event is free of charge and open to all, on a first-come first-served basis. 1healthshumaine.sciencesconf.org

ANSES Scientific Conferences: Antimicrobial resistance in animal health and the environment

10 Rue Traversière, 75012 Paris
Public : oui
Espace Diderot
Every year, to mark European Antibiotic Awareness Day, ANSES holds its annual symposium on this topic, through its Scientific Conferences. This event is fully in line with the implementation of the interministerial roadmap adopted on 18 November 2016, which aims to strengthen and coordinate efforts to combat antibiotic resistance more effectively in animal health. It is helping to mobilise the players concerned – whether scientists, decision-makers or professionals in the field – to tackle this issue, in order to explore new measures to improve the use of antibiotics in veterinary medicine and limit their impact. In 2018, this symposium will focus on current and future issues in epidemiology and modelling in antimicrobial resistance. Like every other year, the Agency's two annual reports on national trends in resistance in animals (Résapath report) and sales of veterinary antimicrobials will also be presented.

ANSES Scientific Conferences : PNREST and "Plan Cancer"

54 Quai de la Rapée, 75012 Paris
Public : oui
Maison de la RATP
For the first time, ANSES's next Scientific Conferences, presenting work conducted as part of the National Research Programme for Environmental and Occupational Health (PNR EST), will be held in partnership with the National Cancer Institute (INCa) and the Multi-Agency Thematic Institute for Cancer (ITMO Cancer) of the French National Alliance for Life Sciences and Health (Aviesan). Cancer is a major public health issue: in metropolitan France in 2017 there were an estimated 400,000 new cases of cancer (incidence), some of which were associated with exposure to factors related to the general or occupational environment. This context led ANSES and ITMO Cancer to make this topic one of the priorities of the PNR EST, while INCa is funding research projects on other risk factors such as genetic predisposition, the development of innovative screening tools, patient care, etc. The advances made in this field and the results obtained by around fifteen research projects will be presented at the Scientific Conferences on 2 October 2018.

Public : non
Laboratoire de sécurité des aliments à Boulogne-sur-Mer
Centrally located in the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, this branch of the ANSES Laboratory for Food Safety – which specialises in fishery and aquaculture products – is expanding! The new extension, co-funded with the support of the Hauts-de-France Regional Council and the Boulogne-sur-Mer Urban Community , will be able to accommodate scientists from the Biochemistry of Aquatic Products Unit of the University of the Littoral-Côte d’Opale , a team conducting joint research with the Charles Viollette Regional Institute for Agrifood and Biotechnology Research . With a team of more than 20 people working on the quality and hygiene of fishery and aquaculture products, the Boulogne-sur-Mer site of the ANSES Laboratory for Food Safety develops methods for detecting, characterising and quantifying pathogens (micro-organisms and parasites) and chemical contaminants (biogenic amines, microplastics, etc.) found in fish, shellfish and crustaceans. Capitalising on these multiple links with the universities and research institutions present in Hauts-de-France, the new building will enable the teams to continue their mission to safeguard health and coordinate the research community in the area of aquaculture and fishing.

Symposium: Preventing and curing infectious diseases according to the One Health concept

10 Rue des Minimes, 37000 Tours
Public : oui
Lycée Descartes à Tours
ANSES is partnering with INRA to organise a symposium entitled "Preventing and curing infectious diseases according to the One Health concept", which will be held at the Lycée Descartes in Tours on 21 June 2018. This event aims to bring together all the players in human, animal and environmental health to develop a debate around the "One Health" vision with a focus on three questions: what strategies, vaccine solutions and alternative methods can help limit the use of drug inputs? what innovative tools and schemes can help with the early detection of sick animals (or reservoirs of infectious agents), in order to prevent the emergence and spread of disease within a herd (management of the herd and of environmental reservoirs of pathogens, regional surveillance)? what are the prospects for R&D and what opportunities for innovation may arise from these novel approaches? > Read the event programme This One Health approach, which recognises that human health is highly dependent on the health of animals and the environment, is at the heart of ANSES's work. In line with this, since 1 January 2018, the Agency has been in charge of coordinating the European Joint Programme (EJP) on One Health , which brings together more than 40 partners from 19 Member States. Several ANSES scientists will be sharing their experiences and work during this symposium: opening presentation by Pascal Boireau, Director of the ANSES Laboratory for Animal Health; presentation on " Understanding and managing bovine tuberculosis: from a genome study of Mb strains circulating in France to participatory surveillance in wildlife " by Maria Laura Boschiroli, from the ANSES Laboratory for Animal Health and Franck Biet from INRA; presentation on " The EJP on One Health: prospects for R&D " by Christophe Cordevant, ANSES.
