ANSES's new 2023-2027 goals and performance contract

The new goals and performance contract (COP) between ANSES and its five supervisory ministries sets out its strategic objectives for the coming five years. Building on the previous COP, its orientations consolidate the Agency's core missions and reflect the changes it plans to undertake to address new challenges, in a national and global context marked by health crises and transformations in society and the environment – climate change and biodiversity loss in particular.

On 26 June, Professor Benoît Vallet, Director General of ANSES, and André Pouzet, President of ACTIA, signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening their collaborative efforts to monitor and prevent current and emerging health risks in the food sector and improve the quality of food.

Establishment of an international Scientific Board for ANSES

ANSES has decided that the renewal of its Scientific Board is an opportunity to give it an international outlook. The new Scientific Board therefore brings together 29 scientists from research and scientific expert appraisal organisations or counterpart agencies in France and abroad, who will be able to share their practices and reinforce those of the Agency. The members appointed by ministerial order for a period of three years, and tasked with ensuring the quality, relevance and coherence of the Agency's scientific work.

Patrick Dehaumont appointed Chair of ANSES's Board of Administrators

Patrick Dehaumont, Inspector General of Veterinary Public Health, was appointed Chair of ANSES's Board of Administrators by Presidential Decree dated 11 of may 2023. A veterinary doctor, Patrick Dehaumont has devoted his career to animal and public health, serving as Director General for Food, among other roles.

ANSES and IFREMER renew their partnership

On 4 April 2023, Benoît Vallet, Director General of ANSES, and François Houllier, CEO of IFREMER, signed a new five-year framework partnership agreement. The two organisations have therefore undertaken to continue their collaborative research and expertise appraisal work on the health of fish and molluscs and the safety of foods derived from them. They are also planning to carry out their joint initiatives as part of a cross-cutting approach that is more open to society.

One Health for humans, animals and ecosystems: ANSES and INRAE renew their partnership

On 3 March, Benoit Vallet, Director General of ANSES, and Philippe Mauguin, Chair and CEO of INRAE, signed a new partnership agreement for the next five years. The two partners are thus undertaking to extend their joint work to produce invaluable knowledge for the development of sustainable production systems and the preservation of ecosystems, in keeping with the “One Health” approach.
