Agathe Denéchère appointed Deputy Director General for General Affairs at ANSES

On 23 July 2018, Agathe Denéchère was appointed Deputy Director General for General Affairs at ANSES. A former student of the École Nationale d'Administration, her career is rooted in the field of health and social affairs. Agathe Denéchère will now coordinate ANSES's General Affairs Division and will be one of the driving forces behind the strategic orientations essential to the Agency's governance in its health-related expert appraisal missions. She succeeds Caroline Gardette, who has been appointed Head of the Human Resources Department at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture.

Agathe Denéchère, a former student at the Ecole Nationale d'Administration ("Romain Gary" graduation class), began her career at the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs. In 2008, she became Chief of Staff to the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAM-TS), where she was mainly responsible for managing projects in public health and services for social security beneficiaries, as well as negotiations with healthcare professionals.

In 2012, Agathe Denéchère was appointed to the office of the Minister of Social Affairs and Health as an advisor on health insurance and independent healthcare professionals, and then on finance, the budget and health insurance. In this role, she managed all financial matters such as the coordination of social security financing laws and the negotiation of the Ministry's budget. In 2014, she joined the Social Security Directorate as Deputy Director of Pensions and Supplementary Social Protection Institutions, where her role included preparing the future pension reform. 

Capitalising on her strong background in the health and social sector, Agathe Denéchère will now coordinate ANSES's General Affairs Division. Within the General Directorate, she will manage all the Agency's activities in human resources, financing, budgets and quality, as well as the application of the code of ethics. She will also provide support for the strategic orientations essential to the Agency's governance in its health-related expert appraisal missions.

Her expertise in public policy and financial and legal matters will be a major asset for carrying out her new duties to improve the Agency's efficiency and ensure respect for the values of transparency and independence on which ANSES's scientific excellence is based.

On her appointment, Agathe Denéchère stated that she was committed "to ensuring that all means and resources are strategically deployed to support the Agency's high-level scientific work.My mission is fully in line with ANSES's fundamental values of rigour and transparency and contributes to ensuring respect for the rules of ethics to guarantee strong and independent expert appraisal.

General Affairs Division

The Deputy Director General of the General Affairs Division has hierarchical responsibility for the Human Resources Department, the Purchasing Department, the Financial Affairs Department, the Technical Affairs & Information Systems Department, the Legal Affairs Department, the Quality & Internal Audit Department and the Health, Safety & Security Unit. As such, she chairs the Agency's Committee on health, safety and working conditions.
